Red Cross Rescue Racers Invites Runners and Walkers to Join Their Charity Training Team for Myrtle Beach Marathon
The Red Cross Rescue Racers, the official charity training team for the Myrtle Beach Marathon, will hold two informational meetings prior to kick off of the 2014 marathon training program. Meetings will be held Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. at the Red Cross chapter house, 3531 Pampas Dr., Myrtle Beach and Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. at Black Dog Running Company, 515 U.S. 501 in Myrtle Beach.
Qualified coaches will be on hand to explain this unique 16-week training program designed to prepare runners, run/walkers and walkers of all abilities for the half and full marathon to be held Feb. 15, 2014.
Red Cross Rescue Racer team members agree to donate or raise a minimum of $500 each to benefit local disaster relief. Now in its seventh year, the program has raised more than $300,000 benefitting the Red Cross and its humanitarian mission. Co-sponsoring the team this year is WebsterRogers CPAs and O’Donovan Travel, along with WPDE News Channel 15, Gator 107.9, Angelo’s Steak & Pasta, and Black Dog Running Company.

About the American Red Cross:
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation's blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families.
