Please join us Friday, April 4th for a dinner at our annual Luminaria gala, held from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the Four Seasons Austin Hotel. As the signature event of the American Red Cross of Central Texas, Luminaria will be celebrating the many ways Red Cross brings comfort and hope – and light – to families and individuals who are unexpectedly affected by devastating disasters.
This year’s Luminaria will honor Admiral Bobby R. Inman Navy (Ret.) as the recipient of our Lady Bird Johnson Humanitarian Award, and Whole Foods as our Public Partner of the Year. We will also posthumously honor our extraordinary volunteer Tom Davis as the recipient of our Greg Coleman Tribute Award.
Over the last year, assistance like yours has allowed the American Red Cross to provide crucial assistance to families whose homes were destroyed by flooding in South Austin, whose lives were shattered by the fertilizer plant explosion in West, whose communities were devastated by the tornadoes in Oklahoma, and whose property and loved ones were swept away by Hurricane Sandy and Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
And just within the last 48 hours alone, efforts like yours have helped us provide assistance to at least five military families within the Austin area as well as allowed us to come to the aid of local individuals affected by severe weather and house fire.
With your generous support, American Red Cross volunteers provide hope and compassion to families and individuals in need. We know we are all in this together, and we care deeply about our neighbors and communities.
We hope you will join us in bringing light and hope to families and individuals affected by disasters big or small.
Sponsorship opportunities for Luminaria are also available. As sponsors, you’ll enjoy many benefits, including an invitation to attend the Sponsorship Reception on the top floor of the Austonian on March 19th. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
