Apple Valley Hometown Heroes Celebration - March 20th, 2014

Yakima Heroes Breakfast 2014

On Thursday, March 20, 2014, the Apple Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross will host the 2014 Hometown Heroes Celebration at the Wenatchee Convention Center. This annual event celebrates the power of humanitarian spirit in our community by honoring local citizens for doing something remarkable to help others. The event also raises critical funding for local Red Cross programs including 24 hour-a-day disaster relief and preparedness education programs.

During the event, individuals will be recognized in several award categories including Spirit of the Red Cross Hero, Humanitarian Hero, Animal Rescue Hero, Community Organization Hero, Law Enforcement/Dispatch Hero, 911 Hero, and Water Safety Hero. The Hometown Heroes Celebration typically draws hundreds of business and civic leaders in celebration of ordinary people doing extraordinary deeds in Chelan and Douglas counties.

This event is open to the public, although RSVPs are required by March 10th for attendance. There is no charge to attend the celebration, but guests will have the opportunity to make a gift in support of the Red Cross during the event.
