Agilent donates $100,000

In response to the major wildfires in Colorado, Agilent Technologies Foundations, headquartered in Santa Clara and a major employer in Colorado Springs and across the nation, is making a donation in the amount of $100,000 to the American Red Cross. In addition, Agilent will match employee’s gifts up to $50,000.

In Colorado, nearly 1,000 trained Red Cross disaster workers are supporting relief efforts where the fires destroyed over 500 homes and threatened as many as 30,000.

“Agilent and its people are eager to help our colleagues in Colorado,” says Steve Beitler, Silicon Valley Manager of Government and Public Affairs. “Our company has a long history in Colorado and in working with the American Red Cross, which is doing critical work on the ground under very trying conditions.”

The wildfire began June 23 and spread rapidly due to dry, windy conditions and high temperatures. Known as the Waldo Canyon fire, it has burned 29 square miles of land resulting in extensive damage, including an Agilent facility in Colorado Springs. Hot summer weather has sparked fires in other parts of Colorado over the past weeks as well.
