At the request of local officials, the American Red Cross is supporting our community by providing mental health support, food, water, cots and blankets where needed. As we provide this care and comfort, the safety of our workers and everyone we serve is our first priority. We are working in close coordination with emergency officials and community leaders to identify how we can continue to support people in the days and weeks ahead.
The Red Cross is not currently accepting donations restricted to our efforts in Baltimore City. However, the Red Cross always needs help to be prepared for events like this and all the humanitarian efforts we support each year. On average, the Red Cross helps Maryland families two to three times each day after disasters by providing emergency shelter, food, clothing and counseling.
