American Red Cross Tiffany Circle Society of Women Leaders Shares their Lifesaving Mission with “CPR and Cocktails”

DALLAS, TX (March 30, 2012) —Top women supporters of American Red Cross-Dallas Area Chapter welcomed other female leaders and philanthropists to join them in learning about the lifesaving mission of the Red Cross at a special “CPR and Cocktails” event on Tuesday, April 24, at the Dallas Country Club. Guests learned how to save a life in a Red Cross CPR course while networking and socializing about current events.

The American Red Cross Tiffany Circle Society of Women Leaders is a powerful leadership network of women who donate $10,000 annually to support their local chapters. By investing annually in their local Red Cross chapters, these women follow in the footsteps of a long line of women leaders who have helped the Red Cross serve the American public in times of war and peace through disaster response, blood collection, safety training and countless other community services.

American Red Cross North Texas Regional CEO, T.D. Smyers, spoke at the event about his goals for the Red Cross and the Tiffany Circle under his leadership.

“When I accepted this position with the Red Cross, I had a sense that I would be working shoulder-to-shoulder with people serving something larger than themselves,” Smyers said, “This is definitely the case with the Tiffany Circle women in Dallas. It is good to know that the Red Cross includes such high caliber talent, and I look forward to working side-by-side with the Tiffany Circle for many years to come.”

Smyers also demonstrated CPR techniques alongside hostess Billie Leigh Rippey under the mentorship of a certified Red Cross CPR instructor. Guests enjoyed learning chest compressions to the beat of “Staying Alive” by the BeeGees and enjoying signature cocktails such as the Clara Barton Cosmopolitan alongside Red Cross red velvet cupcakes from Sprinkles bakery.
