Dallas, Texas, August 28, 2013 — A buzz is in the air as event organizers prepare to celebrate the first-year anniversary of the American Red Cross Young Professionals Auxiliary (YPA) in Dallas, Texas. Under the direction of Caroline Hurley, founder and board president, the group has become the largest Red Cross YPA in the nation.
“I remember one of my goals one year ago was to engage young professionals in my city to make a commitment to their community,” said Hurley. “I had no idea at the time that more than 300 people would sign up, and that they would work so hard to advance the Red Cross mission. It’s so heartwarming, but I don’t want to stop here.”
Hurley, along with event chairs James Landen and Jack Burgher, are hard at work coordinating the anniversary event and inviting new young professionals to join the cause.
