SAN ANTONIO, TX, December 12, 2012 –
American Red Cross disaster action team members are busy working with three families affected by fires in the last three days.
Two adults and four children were affected Monday on Debra Street; an apartment fire early this morning on Randolph Boulevard affected two adults; and this afternoon’s fire on the West Side displaced two adults and five children. Needs for shelter, food and clothing will be met as identified by our volunteer responders.
Cold weather, as always, increases the probability of dwelling fires. We urge everyone to observe safety practices for fire prevention, particularly regarding home heating, holiday decorations, and open fires (candles).
