(HOLLISTER, CA - October 25, 2011) - The American Red Cross volunteers from San Benito County are providing emergency assistance to a family of seven that was displaced following a home fire on Sunday night in Hollister. The American Red Cross is providing shelter, food, clothing, medication and emotional support for the affected family. The local Red Cross Chapter,with an office in Hollister, is working with the family to assist with their long-term recovery from the fire. In the last week, the local Red Cross chapters have responded to five house fires in Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties providing shelter, food, clothing and emotional support to nearly 30 local residents.
