A growing partnership between the Quirk Auto Group and the American Red Cross of Maine has, and will continue to, benefit those in Maine in need of immediate, disaster-related services. A discount on a recent Red Cross vehicle purchase and a commitment to financially support the Red Cross via the Quirk “Gift of Love” sales event highlights the company’s commitment to serve the community.
The Red Cross of Maine serves anyone in need, anytime and anywhere help is needed. Volunteers often drive hours to meet a client in the far reaches of the state, donating their time, fuel, and wear & tear on their vehicles. Quirk’s donation of a discount towards a vehicle purchase will help ease that burden and allow the Red Cross to provide services more quickly and efficiently across the state.
Mercedes-Benz at Quirk Auto Park in Bangor has also selected the American Red Cross of Maine as the beneficiary of this year’s “Gift of Love” sales event. The dealership will donate $100 for every new or used Mercedes-Benz sold between January 15th and March 1st, 2013. As part of the event, now in its 2nd year, the Red Cross will provide both sales and service customers at the dealership with information about Red Cross services such as disaster response, service to the armed forces, health and safety services, biomedical services, and international work.
Todd Nadeau, Chapter Executive of the Pine Tree Chapter of the Red Cross stated, “Our partnership with Quirk and their generous contribution is an example of a local business understanding what it takes for the Red Cross to provide clients with immediate disaster-related aid as well as other critical services.”
Quirk Auto Group, a family-owned and operated business, has been committed to customer satisfaction for over 40 years. With locations in Bangor, Portland, and Belfast, Quirk has grown from 4 to over 400 employees and is one of Maine’s largest automotive retailers.
“Quirk Auto Group is honored to help support an organization that touches millions of lives every year in communities nationwide," said Jack Quirk, President of Quirk Auto Group. "Besides collecting blood and helping people recover from disasters, they give incredible support to our military personnel and their families. I want to help get the message out to our employees and the people of Maine that the Red Cross needs our help, now. Together, let's help those who help us."
Last fiscal year, the American Red Cross of Maine provided disaster relief services to over 1,000 individuals across Maine. Our volunteers educated nearly 3,500 Mainers in disaster preparedness, and assisted about 1,000 military families with communications services and financial aid. All Red Cross services are free of charge and made possible by the generous contributions of individuals, businesses like Quirk Auto Group, and foundations across the state.
