PHILADELPHIA - The theme of this year’s Celebration of Volunteers is #SuperStrong, a combination of Superhero and Strong, a word that has come to mean resilient in the wake of disasters.

More than 300 volunteers will attend this year’s event. About a dozen will receive special recognition for their service to the five county region and the nation, including Sandy and Oklahoma tornadoes. Five volunteers will be awarded the President’s Call to Service Award, recognizing them for committing more than 4,000 hours of volunteer service. 6ABC TV anchor and reporter Alicia Vitarelli will co-host.

The Annual Meeting preceding the banquet will include inducting our new board members and officer elections. Other highlights include:

• The Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts choir will perform.

• Year In Review and volunteers in action video presentations

Visuals will include dinner, award presentations, and two video presentations and a slideshow.
