Baton Rouge-area Sonic, America’s Drive-In restaurants will donate 10 percent of sales on the evening of June 10 to American Red Cross Disaster Relief to help the people of Oklahoma.
“Like everyone, we have been following the devastation these storms have caused to so many people, and we knew right away we wanted to help in some way,” said Jenn Foreman of Kergan Brothers Sonic.
The donations at East Baton Rouge, Livingston and Ascension Parish restaurants will be used to help the areas affected by the recent tornadoes with recovery and disaster-caused needs.
“American Red Cross Disaster Relief focuses on meeting the immediate emergency needs of those affected the most. So we knew this was a way for us to help and provide a way for others to help too,” said Cindy Moore of Larry Tucker Sonic Drive-Ins.
The fundraiser lasts from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 10.
"The American Red Cross is grateful to Sonic and their patrons for their generosity," said Kay W. Wilkins, Regional Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross in South Louisiana. “With a large-scale disaster, the recovery process is long and the Red Cross appreciates the support of the local community.”
