American Red Cross Expresses Sympathy and Concern For Those Affected by Washington Navy Yard Shooting

Updated at 2:45 pm ET: The American Red Cross would like to join the nation and Washington DC area community in expressing its sympathy and concern for those affected by today's shooting at the Washington Navy Yard. Currently, the National Capital Region of the American Red Cross is supporting a family reunification center with mental health workers and refreshments. The Red Cross has also provided nearly 90 units of blood products to local hospitals. The Red Cross is in close contact with our partners in the Washington DC emergency response community and will continue to coordinate with them to determine how we can best help people during this difficult time.
