Statement on the Death of Senator Daniel Inouye

STATEMENT BY THE AMERICAN RED CROSS ON THE PASSING OF SENATOR DANIEL INOUYE (D-HI)

"The American Red Cross is so saddened to hear of Senator Daniel Inouye’s passing. From his time as a teenage Red Cross volunteer and throughout his long, distinguished career in Congress, Senator Inouye was a lifetime supporter of the American Red Cross. A true American hero, Senator Inouye fought bravely for our country in World War II, earning him the Medal of Honor. Representing Hawaii in Congress since its inception as a state, Senator Inouye worked tirelessly for his constituents and for all Americans, and will be remembered for strengthening the defense of our nation. Our hearts and thoughts go out to his family and his staff."
