Pledge of Ongoing Support Enables Red Cross to Provide Help and Hope

Each day, the American Red Cross helps people facing emergencies. It provides food and lodging for the family whose home was destroyed by fire. It helps communities devastated by disasters. It helps a deployed soldier get home for the birth of a child. It provides blood to the child battling cancer.
Since 1881, the Red Cross has prevented and relieved suffering one day at a time, one person at a time. Trained American Red Cross volunteers are ready 365 days a year to open shelters, serve hot meals and provide comfort to victims of disaster, the faster people and communities can begin to recover.

Program members help the Red Cross each day in the Northern California Coastal Region respond to 725 local disasters; collect over 70,000 blood donations; empower 87,215 residents with lifesaving courses, such as First Aid/CPR, Water Safety, Babysitting, and disaster preparedness training and assist 6,000 military members, their families, and veterans.
