SAN RAFAEL, CA (July 26, 2017) — The American Red Cross is proud to present the Marin County Volunteer of the Year to Kevin Sagar of Fairfax, California. This award aims to recognize volunteer leaders who have made significant contributions in leadership roles over the past year.
Kevin does it all — from being a Team Lead on our Disaster Action Team, responding to 90 percent of Marin County disaster calls; to serving as the County’s Logistic Lead, ensuring our disaster response supplies are ready to go when needed; to helping ensure our volunteer rosters are accurate; to helping with the facility where he pumped out water and laid out plastic sheeting under the building to save Red Cross money on our plumbing bills. On top of all that, Kevin is always willing and consistently positive in whatever task he encounters!

You can make a difference in Marin County by becoming a volunteer with the American Red Cross. Volunteers constitute about 94 percent of the total Red Cross workforce to carry out our humanitarian work. Red Cross volunteers are trained to meet the needs of those affected by disasters, providing food, shelter and comfort for families affected by major disasters such as fires, floods, and earthquakes as well as helping local residents prepare for and recover from emergencies of all kinds.
