Red Cross of the Silicon Valley Celebrate Outstanding Volunteers

San Jose, CA (May 9, 2016) - The American Red Cross of the Silicon Valley is proud to present the Clara Barton Award to Vicky Powell of Los Gatos.

The Clara Barton Award recognizes a volunteer for service in a series of leadership positions held over a period of years. A volunteer since 1999, Vicky has continually proven herself a capable and dedicated leader in the field of Disaster Mental Health, eventually rising up to the role of Disaster Mental Health Advisor for the Pacific Division.

To this day, Vicky’s insight is highly sought after by her fellow Red Crossers. Despite the sometimes difficult nature of the field of Disaster Mental Health, Vicky remains one of the most grounded, compassionate and committed leaders the Silicon Valley Chapter has seen. Her contributions to the Chapter, Region and division are incredibly numerous, and we are long overdue in getting her recognizing her utmost dedication to the organization.
