Red Cross Thanks Corporate Sponsors of Signature Annual Event

ST. LOUIS, MO, May 2, 2016 – The American Red Cross of Eastern Missouri thanks local corporations for their generous support of the 2016 Heroes Breakfast. The 5th annual fundraising event, held April 15 at St. Louis Union Station, raised nearly $270,000.

AAA, Anheuser-Busch, Emerson and KSDK served as Breakfast sponsors of the event – a sponsorship level of at least $25,000. Award sponsors, a $10,000 contribution level, included, AB | MAURI, American Direct, Ascension, Drury Hotels, Edward Jones, Ekon Benefits, Enterprise, KPMG, U.S. Bank and Veteran’s Home Care. In all, more than 35 corporations supported the event.

“Every year, I am so inspired by the stories of the courageous lifesaving actions of those in our communities,” said Cindy Erickson, Regional CEO of the Red Cross. “Their actions truly depict the mission of the Red Cross. We are grateful to the local corporations who support both their actions and the work we do every day.”

Nichole Berlie and Pat McGonigle of KSDK 5 On Your Side served as emcees for the event, which honored men, women and children who acted courageously to save the life of another. The 10 award categories depict the Red Cross mission, and included Blood Services, Disaster Relief, Firefighter, Good Samaritan Adult, Good Samaritan Youth, Healthcare Professional, Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Assistance, Military and Community Impact.

Over the years, the Red Cross of Eastern Missouri has honored more than 520 individuals for saving a life.
