In 2013, Freeborn and Mower County Red Cross volunteers provided food, shelter, comfort and hope to 14 local families who faced home fires and other disaster situations. They trained nearly 500 people in lifesaving skills, and another 350 downloaded the Red Cross mobile CPR and First Aid apps. 10 local families were connected with services and messages to military members, veterans and their families. 32,000 people have accessed the Freeborn and Mower Red Cross web page. The Red Cross also collected over 4400 units of blood from donors in Freeborn and Mower Counties.

The money raised from Dancing with the Stars will be used to continue providing vital Red Cross services to the residents of Freeborn and Mower Counties.
