LUVERNE, MN, JUNE 17, 2014 — The American Red Cross has paired up with local officials to distribute cleanup kits and flood recovery tips to people in Luverne. 4 inches of rain fell on the city over the weekend. The heavy rains broke a spillway connected to the city’s 77-year-old dam and caused flooding for many of the residents.

The Red Cross cleanup kits contain mops, buckets, bleach, gloves, cleaning products and other necessities to start dealing with the flooding damage. The Red Cross is in communication with local emergency managers to evaluate the situation as it continues to evolve. Residents of Rock County may call 507-283-5065 for assistance
