Warming Station Closes, Shelter Accommodations Available

CHARLOTTE, Thursday January 30, 2014 — The warming station established at the Mecklenburg County Homeless Resource Center will close today at noon, though shelter accommodations remain available at:
• Salvation Army Women’s Shelter (for women, children and single women)
   534 Spratt Street, Charlotte

• Men’s Shelter of Charlotte
  1210 N Tryon St, Charlotte

• Urban Ministry/Room At The Inn
   Registration is required today by 4:30 p.m. for tonight.
   945 North College Street, Charlotte.

Last night, the American Red Cross in cooperation with several local partner agencies provided temporary shelter due to the frigid temperatures. During this period of operation the warming station served close to 300 people providing food, water and hot beverages in addition to relief from the freezing environment.
