FAIRFIELD, NJ, September 10, 2014 - The American Red Cross North Jersey Region will hold its 31st Annual World Class Jazz Concert & Brunch on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. at The Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes.
The fundraising concert will feature Warren Vaché, Bucky Pizzarelli, Derek Smith, Rufus Reid, Bill Easley, Steve Johns, and Antoinette Montague.
“We are so proud of the remarkable longevity and success of the Jazz Brunch,” said John A. Uzzi, event committee chairman and Paramus resident. “Once again, we are looking forward to an outstanding day where we can drive the mission of the Red Cross forward.”
Event proceeds will help support American Red Cross programs and services, including Disaster Services.
When home fires occur and people are displaced, members of the Red Cross Disaster Action Team are called to the scene and ready to help. The volunteers meet with families and provide emotional support, temporary lodging, and assistance for food and clothing as needed. Volunteers also help guide families through the next steps toward recovery. Last year, the Red Cross North Jersey Region responded to 486 local disasters, helping 1,130 families displaced by home fires.
“Not everyone understands the significant impact the Red Cross makes in our community every day,” said Uzzi. “Red Cross volunteers are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to help families affected by disasters like home fires. And that’s just the kind of service we are proud to help fund with this event.”
