Sam's Club Holds Barbeque and Blood Drive to Benefit American Red Cross

Sam’s Club #6431 store in Big Flats held a barbeque and blood drive back on July 25th to benefit the Jane Delano Chapter of the American Red Cross. The event raised $267.70 and lead to 15 blood donations.

"We appreciate the ongoing support we receive from Sam’s Club here in Big Flats. They have always been there to support our mission during disasters such as the 2012 tornado, and this additional support helps us to have the supplies we need for the next time our community needs us," said Jane Delano Executive Director Joel Robinson

The Jane Delano Chapter in Corning is the new name of the former Sullivan Trail and Greater Steuben Chapters. It was renamed to honor Jane Delano from Montour Falls in Schuyler County. Delano was a nurse and the founder of the American Red Cross Nursing Service in the early 1900s. The Chapter serves Chemung, Schuyler and Steuben Counties in the Western New York Finger Lakes Region.
