Red Cross Volunteer Recruitment Event Thursday in Greene

GREENE, N.Y. (March 31, 2014) — The American Red Cross of the Southern Tier is hosting a volunteer recruitment event for Chenango County residents from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 3, in the Cynthia Raymond Room at Moore Memorial Library, 59 Genesee St., Greene.
The event is for residents who are interested in helping others and giving back to their communities through the American Red Cross. Red Cross staff members and volunteers will describe the various volunteer opportunities that are available within the Red Cross lines of service: Disaster Services, Blood Services, Service to Armed Forces, and Health and Safety Services.
“The Red Cross is always looking for people with various backgrounds, talents and skill levels to join our team,” said Colleen McCabe, Regional Volunteer Manager for the American Red Cross Central New York Region. “With volunteers comprising 94 percent of our workforce in the Southern Tier, volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring that the Red Cross delivers its services in our communities. Please join us to learn more about how you can serve your community as a Red Cross volunteer.”
