SYRACUSE, N.Y. (Aug. 5, 2014) — The Syracuse Crunch raised $1,195 through an online jersey auction to benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, and Crunch player Eric Neilson will present the check to the Red Cross at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the War Memorial Arena.
The media is invited to attend the presentation to interview Neilson and Red Cross Central New York Region CEO Rosie Taravella. Proceeds from the auction, which featured the road blue jerseys of Crunch players Mark Barberio, Jon DiSalvatore and Neilson, will benefit those affected by disasters such as the tornado and severe storms that hit Central New York July 8.

Who: Syracuse Crunch player Eric Neilson and American Red Cross Central New York Region CEO Rosie Taravella. Neilson won the 2013-14 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award presented to the American Hockey League player who best exemplifies the spirit of community service.
What: Neilson and the Crunch will present a check for $1,195 to the American Red Cross of Central New York for its Disaster Relief Fund.
