American Red Cross Offers Pet First Aid Class May 17 in Watertown

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (May 9, 2014) — The American Red Cross of Northern New York will host  a Pet First Aid class for cat and dog owners from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17,  at the Red Cross office at 203 North Hamilton St., Watertown.

The Pet First Aid class will cover the following topics:

• Approaching an injured animal.
• Stopping bleeding, splinting broken bones, and treating for poison.
• Safely transporting an injured pet.
• Creating a pet first aid kit.
• How to have a healthy and happy pet.
