Red Cross to Hold Open House in Woodward

Woodward, Monday, April 14, 2014 – The American Red Cross invites the public to attend an open house at its Woodward office on April 17.

The open house will give an overview of the Red Cross’ history, mission and services offered to the community. The attendees will be provided with important severe weather preparedness information as the Oklahoma storm season continues.

96 percent of the non-profit organization is volunteer-based. For this reason, the Red Cross relies on the compassion, care and support from all of its volunteers and donors. There will be information stations informing attendees on the various opportunities to get involved as a Red Cross Volunteer.

The Red Cross seeks bilingual speakers to volunteer as the Hispanic outreach effort continues to expand across the region. All Red Cross materials are provided in Spanish and English.

The event in Woodward at the American Red Cross office located at 1209 9th Street. It will begin at 4 p.m. and last until 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Snacks and drinks will be served.
