Fight Fire with Fire BBQ celebration to benefit Red Cross

PHILADELPHIA - The American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania (SEPA) Friends of Red Cross Leadership Council (FORC) will host a BBQ event to raise money for local residents affected by disaster. The outside event will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the University City Science Center Parking Lot located on 39th and Market Streets in Philadelphia.

“Fight Fire with Fire: A BBQ Sampling and Cooking Celebration” is an all you can eat BBQ extravaganza that will include a complementary beer garden. Tickets are $30 for adults, $20 for students and $15 for children. All proceeds will benefit Red Cross House, the one of a kind short term recovery center in University City, which provides housing and support to people in the wake of a fire or other disaster.

“The Red Cross is excited for our Friends of Red Cross Leadership Council to host the ‘Fight Fire with Fire’ event again this year,” said SEPA CEO Judge Renée Cardwell Hughes. “We look forward to a day of food and fun for a great cause.”

The event will feature some of the area’s leading BBQ restaurants and vendors. Several local bands will provide the music and there will be plenty of activities for kids. Everyone is welcome to enjoy food and drink from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Ticket information and purchasing options can be found here. Take a look at pictures from last year’s event!

Visuals include BBQ vendors, live music, SEPA Mascot Fred Cross and more.
