Red Cross Assists Charleston Family Displaced by Home Fire

CHARLESTON, SC, March 29, 2015 - The American Red Cross assisted a family of four, two adults and two children, whose residence, located on Hanover Road, Charleston, sustained major damage by fire Sunday morning.  The Charleston Fire Department responded to the blaze.  The Red Cross provided financial assistance for food and temporary housing, as well as comfort kits, containing personal hygiene items, and referrals to partner organizations to help with the family’s long-term recovery.

Last year, the Palmetto South Carolina Region assisted more than 7,000 individuals affected by disaster.
