MYRTLE BEACH and FLORENCE, S.C. (May 28, 2014) —WBTW News 13 is teaming up with 99.5 WRNN and Star 92.1 for the “100 Days of Summer. 100 Days of Hope.” Red Cross blood drive Thursday, June 19.
The event is scheduled for 11 a.m.-7 p.m. at Magnolia Mall (Sears Court), 2701 David McLeod Blvd., in Florence and Coastal Grand Mall (HealthFinders), 2000 Coastal Grand Circle, in Myrtle Beach.

Eligible donors are invited give hope to patients in need by rolling up a sleeve and donating lifesaving blood. All presenting donors at the “100 Days of Summer. 100 Days of Hope.” blood drive will receive a free box of Girl Scout cookies, while supplies last.
Vacations and summer activities often result in a decline in blood donations during the summer. In fact, during the months of June, July and August, about two fewer donors give blood at each Red Cross blood drive than what patients need.
How to donate blood: Simply call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or Dr.r’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental consent in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
