INFORMATION: | The American Red Cross continues to support the disaster response activities of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies by donating supplies, such as 1,500 hygiene kits and 1,000 tarps, and deploying an American Red Cross international disaster response worker, Corey Michaud, to Peru. As part of an international team, Michaud will work closely with the Peruvian Red Cross to assess the needs of the survivors and distribute relief items.
In preparation for the 2007 hurricane season, the American Red Cross actively collaborated with PADRU, the Pan-American Disaster Response Unit, in Panama and sister societies in the region on disaster preparedness efforts.
