My Survival

Red Cross blood recipient

When I was 6 years old I developed a rare form of anemia called Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia. I was sent straight from my doctor's office to St. Louis Childrens Hospital. After several different treatments with no success my doctor said that I had to be given blood due to my blood counts dropping lower and lower. Once I received the blood my counts started going up and up. Without getting the blood I would have not survived. I am so thankful for the people that donate blood. Without them I would not be here.
