Sponsors/Players Needed for Hurricane Golf Classic
August 2nd - Caledonia Golf Club
Sponsors and players are needed for the Coastal South Carolina Chapter of the American Red Cross Hurricane Golf Classic to be held on Aug. 2 at
Caledonia Golf Club in Pawleys Island. The benefit tournament will begin with a 1 p.m. registration and lunch provided by McAlister’s Deli followed by a 2:30 p.m. shotgun start. Cost for the four-person Captain’s Choice tournament is $400 or $100 per player.
There will be prizes for a hole-in-one, closest-to-the-pin and longest drive in Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Divisions. The tournament will be held rain or shine and all proceeds will benefit the local chapter of the American Red Cross, which serves Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg counties.

Red Cross Volunteers
Recognized at Annual Banquet
Mylle Swatko of Myrtle Beach, a long-time board member and volunteer with the local Red Cross, was named an honorary life member of the Coastal South Carolina Chapter Board of Directors April 24 at the 2008 Volunteer Recognition and Annual Meeting. The honor is presented to a board member whose term has ended and who has provided exemplary service to the Chapter.
About 140 people gathered for the membership meeting and dinner at Horry-Georgetown Technical College’s Conference Center. The donated dinner was catered through the HGTC Culinary Program and Chef Eric Wagner.
