AED - Adult and Child

This course teaches participants the skills and knowledge needed to provide care for adults experiencing sudden cardiac arrest through the safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Also to learn how to use an AED with pediatric AED pads on child victims between the ages of 1 and 8 or less than 55 pounds. A current American Red Cross CPR - Adult and Child certificate is a prerequisite for this training.

AED training teaches participants:

  • What defibrillation is and how it works
  • The causes of sudden cardiac arrest
  • The role of CPR in cardiac arrest
  • How to use an AED, including precautions when using and AED
