Resolution on Recognition of the
Magen David Adom
October 27, 2001

The Following resolution was approved by the American Red Cross Board of Governors on Saturday, October 27:

BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Governors of the American Red Cross, following its 25-year position, strongly reaffirms its commitment for full inclusion of Magen David Adom ("MDA") in the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. This is in recognition that admission is right and just and firmly based on the Fundamental Principles of the Movement.

RESOLVED, the Board of Governors of the American Red Cross directs and empowers management to continue to pursue all necessary and appropriate means to accomplish full implementation of its commitment for inclusion of MDA, specifically reaffirming its position to withhold Bareme until such time as the MDA is a full member.
