National Standards Curriculum AlignmentsAll American Red Cross courses listed in the curriculum alignment are aligned with National Education Standards
The curriculum alignment makes it easy for educators to integrate important emergency preparedness and disaster information into their regular school schedule with already-completed lesson plans and tests, activities, hands-on skills training, videos, PowerPoint presentations, reproducible materials and much more.
The national benchmarking format was used when creating the curriculum alignment charts. This format breaks the courses up among three grade groups: K-4, 5-8 and 9-12. Some courses, for example Basic Aid Training course, were designed for grades 3-5 however you will see charts for K-4 and 5-8 in Health and Science. To view the curriculum alignment charts, please click on the course link to view the curricula charts available for that course.
Interested educators and school systems should contact their local Red Cross chapter for more information on how to incorporate Red Cross materials into their existing classes.
