Community First Aid and Safety: Components I-IIIThe national benchmarking format was used when creating the Community First Aid and Safetycurriculum alignment charts. This format breaks the courses up among three grade groups: K-4, 5-8 and 9-12.
Health – Grades 5-8
Health – Grades 9-12
Science – Grades 5-8
Science – Grades 9-12
One of our more popular safety courses, Community First Aid and Safety is great for schools, families and childcare workers. The complete course combines CPR and first aid training to teach participants how to:
- Recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants, children and adults
- Perform first aid for cuts, scrapes, bruises, burns, bleeding, sprains and strains
- Treat sudden illnesses, including poisonings and heat and cold emergencies
- Minimize the effects of shock
- Recognize emergencies and take action
- Understand the role of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in the Cardiac Chain of Survival
Enhance Community First aid and Safety wit AED training. Simply add AED Essentials— an optional 2-hour course for those already certified in CPR —to your training.
Course hours: 9.5 plus optional 2 hours
For Grades: 7-12
