Educators Introduction

If you are a teacher, the Red Cross has something for you! Every day teachers throughout the United States use American Red Cross training materials and programs to support their daily lesson plans. Also, teachers can partner with their local Red Cross chapter or Blood Services office to provide programs taught in the classroom by Red Cross staff. For example, the Masters of Disaster program teaches young people disaster safety concepts and can be easily integrated into existing lesson plans. Other training programs teach young people how to perform lifesaving first aid and CPR skills to others in need.

The American Red Cross has teacher materials geared to all age groups, from a poster coloring book to the International Humanitarian Law and the Geneva Conventions Study Guide. Teachers will also find guidelines for collecting oral history. For more information contact your local Red Cross or visit the teacher page on the Red Cross virtual museum.
