Corporate Bulk Donations of Comfort Items Provide a Piece of Home to Troops

Despite an end to major combat in Iraq, American Red Cross support of U.S. troops and their families continues. For American service members, the Red Cross is a lifeline, assisting more than 1,100 military families daily with urgent messages regarding a serious illness, death of a loved one or the joyous birth of a child. In addition to keeping families connected, American Red Cross workers in the states as well as those who are deployed, living and working alongside U.S. troops, provide other assistance and comfort as well.

The American Red Cross would like to thank the following corporate donors that provided products and services in support of members of the U.S. military through our Armed Forces Emergency Services programs. Due to their generosity, Red Cross volunteers and employees have distributed these items to service members as they left domestic and overseas military installations to go to the Persian Gulf Region. Red Cross staff in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Iraq also distributed these items to the soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines deployed throughout the Persian Gulf Region. These donations allowed Red Cross staff supporting U.S. troops with emergency communications to bring a touch of home to the men and women in the military and let them know the American public cares about them.
