American Red Cross Announces New Positions in Disaster Services

Lansing, Mich., December 30, 2013 – 

Effective December 30, 2013, the American Red Cross is pleased to announce that Annette (Annie) Swain is the new Disaster Services Program Manager for the Genesee-Lapeer jurisdiction. Annie has been with the Red Cross as a volunteer for the past 13 years.

 For the last several years she was the volunteer coordinator for The Genesee-Lapeer Chapter. This involved coordinating and scheduling disaster teams, planning quarterly volunteer meetings, developing local procedures, mentoring volunteers, overseeing disaster services for the area and many other activities. 

Also effective December 30, 2013, Pamela McHenry has been appointed as the Regional Direct Services Support Lead Specialist. This position is new to the Central and Northern Michigan Region and will be responsible for Mass Care, Logistics and Recovery to prepare all parts of the region to support all three phases of the Disaster Cycle: Preparedness, Response and Recovery.

 Pam has a wealth of knowledge and experience. She has been with the Red Cross as a volunteer for 15 years and has been on countless deployments during her time as a volunteer and most recently was a National Reservist serving on many national disasters as the Mass Care Chief.
