American Red Cross Helping 13 People After New Britain Fire

The Red Cross is providing help with emergency housing, food and baby needs, as well providing stuffed animal toys to the affected children.

NEW BRITAIN, CONN., MAY 14, 2013 – The American Red Cross is helping 13 people – six adults and seven children – in three families after a fire today on Whiting Street in New Britain.

The Red Cross is providing help with emergency housing, food and baby needs, as well providing stuffed animal toys to the affected children.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
