American Red Cross responds to apartment fire in Oak Ridge


OAK RIDGE, TN – October 12, 2012 – Volunteers from the American Red Cross responded to an apartment fire at the Royce Apartments in Oak Ridge last night which affected families in five units. According to Red Cross spokesperson Diane Naus, two of the apartments were completely destroyed and the families will not be able to move back in. The volunteers arrived at about 11:30 p.m. where the local fire department was already on the scene. The Red Cross provided food, clothing, and shelter and volunteers will follow up with the families to ensure their immediate needs are met.
