Annual Blood Drive Sets Record

Annual Blood Drive Sets Record
Our firefighters and police officers help keep our community safe every day of the year.

Our BIGGEST blood drive of the year - the annual ABC 6, FOX 28 and QFM Red Cross Blood Drive was held on Thursday, June 30 at the Schottenstein Center. We set a new record for units collected in the region during this drive! Including whole blood donations and double red cell donations, the drive ended with 811 pints of blood collected!

This blood drive also serves at the kickoff for the Annual Guns & Hoses Campaign. Firefighters, police officers and other first responders are often aware of the need for blood when responding to emergencies. In the spirit of saving lives, they have joined forces to give blood themselves, and to encourage the public to join them. Those who come to donate blood during Guns-N-Hoses will receive a Columbus Zoo and Aquarium buy one get one free entry coupon and can enter to win one of two $500 Marathon gas cards and a weekly drawing for four passes to Zoombezi Bay.
