Carville & Matalin Draw a Crowd

Kansas City Red Cross, Carville & Matalin Event

More than 700 people watched one of America’s best-loved political couples, James Carville and Mary Matalin, speak at the American Red Cross Genevieve Byrne Speaker Series at the Folly Theater on the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012.

The event raised more than $400,000 for the Red Cross to help people affected by disaster.

Carville and Matalin are co-authors of the national best-seller, All’s Fair: Love, War, and Running for President.

The two are key players on the national political stage with frequent appearances as political analysts on national news networks.

Each have more than 30 years of experience in politics and have individually worked for Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

Carville and Matalin combined their unique experiences to provide a stimulating, candid and provocative conversation from both sides of the political aisle.

Now in its 13th year, the Genevieve Byrne event has raised more than 2.5 million dollars to benefit the American Red Cross. The event has brought many interesting and relevant speakers to Kansas City including Tim Russert, Ben Stein, George Stephanopolous and Bob Schieffer.
