The phones rang off the hook with generous donors that wanted to support the relief efforts in Moore, Oklahoma.

Volunteers from the Red Cross took to the phone lines at several area television stations to accept donations for disaster relief for the recent tornado outbreaks. On June 21, local affiliates for ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC conducted telethons in partnership with the American Red Cross of South/Central Ohio. The phones rang off the hook with generous donors that wanted to support the relief efforts in Moore, Oklahoma and other tornado-ravaged areas.

Hundreds of donors contributed significantly throughout the day; raising nearly $50,000 for disaster relief! A big thanks goes out to the dozens of volunteers who staffed the phone lines. We would like to especially thank WCMH 4 (NBC), WBNS 10 (CBS), WSYX/WTTE 6/28 (ABC/Fox) for opening their studios to conduct the telethons for the American Red Cross! Partnerships with the local media help make the work of the American Red Cross possible!
