Colorado Oil & Gas Association Championing Fundraising Campaign

DENVER – The Colorado Oil & Gas Association (COGA) is urging its members to donate to the American Red Cross, to aid those impacted by recent flooding across Colorado's Front Range.

“Just like me, my family, and neighbors, thousands of Coloradans have been displaced from our homes. I experienced firsthand how the Red Cross is immediately here to meet physical, emotional, and logistical needs,” said Tisha Schuller, the President and CEO of COGA. Schuller and her family were evacuated from their home in Boulder County last week and so far have been unable to return.

The Association urged its members to give the Red Cross over $1,000,000. Noble Energy led the way with a gift of $500,000 and challenged all COGA members to match their gift to raise more than $1,000,000. Schuller sent out a fundraising solicitation to all COGA's members, calling on them to meet Noble's challenge.

This amount does not include the charitable giving by company employees and any matching funds provided by companies. To date gifts have been generously pledged by the following companies:

“The American Red Cross is astounded by the generosity of Coloradans, including the outpouring of support by members of the Colorado Oil & Gas Association", said Gino Greco CEO for the Colorado and Wyoming Region of the American Red Cross. "Our volunteers are working tirelessly to support those affected by this devastating flooding by providing food, shelter, relief supplies and comfort. The financial support from the community enables the Red Cross to provide a helping hand to our neighbors in need.”

“As members of the affected communities, I am so proud to say our industry is answering the needs of our neighbors and friends in Colorado,” Schuller said. “From personnel and equipment, to participating in rescue and response, to donations for community efforts, the oil and gas industry in Colorado has really stepped up to the challenge.”
