Executive retires from Woods River Red Cross

For the people she serves, Joan is the Red Cross. She lives out our mission of preventing and alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies.

Joan Isom has served as the face of the Red Cross for 26 years. She’s spent those years helping hundreds, or perhaps thousands, of people devastated by disasters, taught lifesaving CPR and First Aid courses, assisted military members and their families with emergency communications and seen many changes in the Red Cross. She’s been the driving force behind the organization which serves the Counties of Wythe, Grayson, Carroll and the City of Galax.
