The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss ways in which the Red Cross and the elected officials could partner to build greater resiliency and preparedness within their communities.

Josh Lockwood, Greater New York Red Cross Regional CEO, convened a meeting of Manhattan elected officials Friday, July 12 to update them on on-going recovery programs and activities to help Manhattan residents still recovering from Superstorm Sandy.

The roundtable was hosted by Borough President Scott Stringer. Among those in attendance were Assembly Members Richard Gottfried and Brian Kavanagh as well as Council Member Margaret Chin, as well as representatives from the Borough President’s office, Representative Jerry Nadler, Senator Daniel Squadron, and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver.

The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss ways in which the Red Cross and the elected officials could partner to build greater resiliency and preparedness within their communities.
