Help Save Lives This Summer by Becoming a Red Cross Lifeguard

The American Red Cross, Rappahannock Area Chapter is now offering lifeguard training courses at St. Michael's Christian Academy in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

The class runs from April 12 - April 21 and provides students with lifeguard skills, first aid, CPRPR/AED and blood borne pathogen training.

SCHEDULE

  • Friday, April 12 : 4:30 - 9 PM
  • Saturday, April 13 : 8 - 4 PM
  • Sunday, April 14 : 8 - 4 PM
  • Friday, April 19 : 4:30 - 9 PM
  • Saturday, April 20 : 8 - 2 PM
  • Sunday, April 21 : 8 - 4 PM
  • Course Length: Approximately 30 hours

    PREREQUISITES

  • Minimum age of 15 (proof required).
  • Swim 300 yards continuously using the Front Crawl and Breast Stroke.
  • Swim 20 yards, surface dive 7–10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 minute, 40 seconds.
