Hometown Heroes Raises $172,000 for Red Cross of West Michigan

The American Red Cross of West Michigan would like to thank the community members, organizations, and businesses that celebrated local heroes and the Red Cross at Hometown Heroes.

More than 425 people attended the 7th annual celebration on April 25, which raised more than $172,000 thanks to support from corporate partners and the community.

Recognized community heroes included:

Michelle Bottrall, Clara Barton Humanitarian of the Year Award

Ralph Hauenstein, General George Marshall Patriot Award

Van Andel Institute, Dr. Charles Drew Health Advocate Award

Christina Keller, Henry Dunant Global Impact Award

Judge Patricia Gardner, Caroline Campbell Community Impact Award

Grand Rapids Fire Chief Laura Knapp, Jane Delano Lifesaver Award

Duane Rotman, Mabel Boardman Spirit of Volunteerism Award
